Ok, I didn’t intend for this to turn into a photography blog, but that seems to be all I’m inspired to actually post about lately. Check out this exhibit by Danish photographer Peter Funch at the V1 Gallery in Copenhagen (don’t worry… it’s online). He took multiple exposures from the same location and selectively mashed them together into a set of amusing and incredible scenes.
This is a delightfully clever method of encapsulating the multidimensional richness of urban space created by the transient presence of each random passerby joining the congregation but for a moment to activate that space — the added twist is that particularly settings lend themselves to particular behaviors, for whatever reason. Anyway, this three-dimensional visualization (only two spatial dimensions, of course, but add in time as the third) definitely provided a great deal of fuel for the imagination during my lunchtime jaunt across the Loop today.
Again, check it out here.
